COLLECTORS HABITS
Cohen and Saatchi

Hello everyone, welcome to another entry into the collectors' habit corner. Today, we start at the top: who are famous collectors?

A collector has and can be called many things. I think we explored some of those names in the previous post so now let us name drop. Art is one of the only spheres where name-dropping is acceptable behaviour.

For this list, I tried to curate colletors that are not very popular as collectors so you can be gagged.

First up is Steven Cohen. Yeah I lied, they are famous as hell for being art collectors. Cohen has a museum of post-impressionist and modern paintings but where I really envy him is his ownership of Van Gogh’s Young Peasant Woman. I have been to the Van Gogh experience so I know what beauty that painting is.

Cohen's collection is worth one billion dollars and the word I want to say cannot be put to print so let us let it pass.

Next up for today is Charles Saatchi. Saatchi has an amazing gallery in London, if I get a chance to go soon, I will do a special post on it for you to see and explore. Saatchi collects art from the Middle East and he has a unique style of dealing art because, unlike the regular auctions, he only opens online. He is in this century and is keeping up with the times. Saatchi Gallery a beautiful national gallery in London was donated to the public and he’s also a major supporter of Young British Artists (YBAs), including iconic contemporary artists like Damien Hirst and Tracey Emin.

These two men have good and distinct tastes, you reading this should be more like them.

P/S, this column has now expanded to become my own art blog, and my goodness you are in good hands.
